Sun melting my brain

Dulling the vivid memories

I am trying so hard to forget

Like my mind is turned upside down

And I’m looking for a way to turn it around

To the way it should be

Good for me

Sun weakening my body

Dulling the stress

And bringing on the mess

Aches and pains

I feel full and tired

Now that I’ve dropped the worries

I’d been carrying on

Like I can’t move quickly

Or take care of things I should

I’m trying hard but getting nowhere

Why am I so defenseless

Sun strengthening my heart

Dulling the guilt

Maybe I’ll learn to forgive myself

Cause I can’t do it right always

And the Son is there for me anyway

Out of the blindness

Brought from my stupidity

All before I made more of a mess

I know you were there for me

I’ll remember the hard truth you gave

And how it sounded like what I’d say

You unlocked my prison of wishful thinking

And showed me that fantasies

Aren’t all life’s made of

Now I’m headed the right way

And have my sense back

I’m on rock solid base

I bought a large chunk of Dove white chocolate at the local grocery store and thought how wonderful it was to find a piece an inch thick and four inches long and two inches wide for only $2.50. And good chocolate like Dove too. I decided that I was too hungry and eager to eat it that I’d open it then and there and have some in my car. I nibbled on the edge and thought what a funny taste it had. How come there wasn’t much sweetness. I looked at the packaging and searched for the nutritional information. All I could seem to find was an advertising manner in which the words explained how well it cleaned your body and left you smelling fresh. It was then that it dawned on me as I took another bite, ‘why, this must be soap!’ No wonder it tasted so clean! Maybe I should’ve realized something was amuck when I purchased it for just under three dollars; Dove is not cheap chocolate. However, it is cheap soap. Don’t let the similarities in the logo fool you!

Please ’indulge your mind’ with these two poems I wrote both entitled ‘Two Worlds’

Lay down on my bed of weakness

Difference like night and day

The second I walk through

I feel the transition

From a smile to a frown

It’s like I just stepped down

From this world of entertaining

To my reality of longing

I’m choking on my two worlds

Full of hope and depression

All in one

But all in two

Separated with space

I get the brunt of both

Full steam when I head in

Then leave and feel the peace

I only get on my own in between

I have just recently experienced the bursting feelings of getting really mad. I was irate! Let’s first clarify that this happened on a job and my coworkers did not perform their job and later it became my responsibility to correct it. Despite the fact that it was not my fault or error, I had to fix it and felt the responsibility for it since it would be my task as well at other times. I felt like exploding I was so mad! I couldn’t talk fast enough- if only to the air- or settle down. I was fast like a bullet train and so on top of getting this problem rectified as soon as possible. But, thank goodness it did take me time to finish the job my coworkers so stupidly forgot to, because had it not, I would have gone off on someone else uninvolved with the injustice. I was livid; however, I found a way to cool down; although, I don’t remember just how I did. It must’ve just been the time that went by. I had never been that mad in my life. But, I’m betting that I will endure being even madder in the future because I did not explode, which means there was still room for more frustration. I guess that is another side of life.

Have faith in people and don’t write them off so fast; give them a chance and find out what’s inside.  

There are times when people think of little things to do for others, little things to say, but don’t do it because they’re afraid. Of what? I’m not sure. Maybe just the, “I don’t know if I should.” Why not? You know it would make them smile or laugh. They might even really need it at the time. What’s so scary about being boldly caring or silly because you know it will brighten someone’s day to have you think of them? We need more of that in our society. More smiles, more laughter, more genuine kindness, more honesty, even more silliness. There is too much formality and fake politeness, or what I refer to as ’surface fluff.’ Say something nice because you mean it. Or even give someone a hard time out of love because you know they’ll laugh at it. Go for it! Make someone’s day with your words, jokes, or smile.

Frozen like my worries

Cause they’re still

While I enjoy this chocolate’s chill

Let the smoothness run down

And drown

Reality’s problems I feel

As I indulge in the cherry pecan thrill

And finish the pleasure with a smile

Full of the sweet taste

Only Innocent chocolate can create

From you to a frown

Don’t leave me alone

To this depression I own

Stay here

Keep me smiling

From ear to ear

Enjoy a few short selections all entitled ‘Twister.’

When the dust settles let the truth fall

Let each side stand tall

And see who’s left to endure it all

His storm created will not stand

Against the ones protected

For the Creator of all will stay strong
